Hairy Man Teaching in Dress OK Says Wash. School

A Vancouver, Washington middle school is telling enraged parents that there's no problem having a transvestite substitute teacher so long that the lesson plan is followed, even if the environment in the classroom is so distracting that the kids can't possibly learn anything.

. . . the sub filled in Wednesday at a humanities class at Wy'East Middle School [in the Evergreen School District]. Some kids who were laughing and making jokes were pulled out of class.

The district says the sub has worked in the school district 19 days this school year at 13 different schools.

Apparently, the school district had more of an issue with the kids teasing than they did the substitute’s choice of attire.

The Olympian reported that Evergreen School District has notified Vancouver parents that it does not have a problem with a male substitute teacher who chooses to dress like a woman. The man is required to follow the school's dress code, however. The code prohibits district employees from wearing outfits that are too short, too tight or low cut.

Parents of some Vancouver sixth graders are worried about what to tell their kids after a male substitute teacher showed up at school this week in women's clothing.

Students said it was obvious that their substitute teacher was a man dressed in women's clothing and from what we understand, some of the kids had a hard time settling down because they were laughing and making jokes. Some were eventually pulled out of class.
